Objectives: Bridges, though representing a small portion of transport networks by length, are still prone to traffic crashes. Despite extensive research on bridge-related crashes globally, there's a scarcity of studies exploring differences between bridge- and non-bridge-related crashes. Thus, this paper attempts to add to the current knowledge by comparing bridge-related crashes and non-bridge crashes using a case study in Victoria, Australia.

Objective: Roadwork zones represent a hazardous place within the highway system, with higher crash rates and injury severity, often due to excessive speed and noncompliance with speed limits. On freeways, a common layout is to close a full roadway and to divert traffic onto the opposite roadway, with one lane closed to accommodate the redirected traffic, by driving through the median strip. In this scenario, the second chicane can be a hazardous point if it is not correctly signaled.

Nine in 10 road traffic deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Despite this disproportionate burden, few studies have examined built environment correlates of road traffic injury in these settings, including in Latin America. We examined road traffic collisions in Bogotá, Colombia, occurring between 2015 and 2019, and assessed the association between neighborhood-level built environment features and pedestrian injury and death.
