A novel mesoporous SBA-15 type of hybrid material (3-trimethoxysilylpropyl)[4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)methylene] benzenesulfonamide (Schiff-SBA-15) has been obtained by co-condensation of tetraethyl orthosilicate and the organosilane, and the result of XRD confirms the order hexagonal structure of the composite. This hybrid mesoporous material is fluorescent-active, exhibiting high selectivity for sensing Cu2+ in polar solution. The remarkable fluorescence quenching in emission spectrum upon the addition of Cu2+ is attributed to the intramolecular charge transfer after the formation of a coordinate complex of a large conjugate system and Cu2+ ions.

Two novel 3D inorganic-organic hybrids based on [VO]/[VO] clusters, [Cu(bbpy)(VO)]·3HO () and [CuAg(pty)(VO)]·HO () (bbpy = 3,5-bis(1-benzimidazole) pyridine, pty = 4'-(4″-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2″-terpyridine), were isolated in the same POV/Cu/N-heterocycle ligand reaction systems. Hybrids and possess novel three-dimensional bimetallic frameworks derived from [VO]/[VO] clusters and Cu-organic complexes. In , bbpy ligands are grafted by Cu to a grid ribbon 2D sheet, which are connected with benzene-like [VO] to yield a 3D framework.

Membranes have extensive applications in catalysis, separation, antimicrobial activities, and sensing. However, developing a simple and environmentally friendly method for preparing membranes remains challenging. Here, we report a novel strategy for fabricating self-standing inorganic-organic composite films at the miscible liquid/liquid interface using a soft spray technique.

An electrochromic supercapacitor device (ESD) is an advanced energy storage device that combines the energy storage capability of a supercapacitor with the optical modulation properties of electrochromic materials. The electrode materials used to construct an ESD need to have both rich color variations and energy storage properties. Recent advances in ESDs have focused on the preparation of novel electrochromic supercapacitor electrode materials and improving their energy storage capacity, cycling stability, and electrochromic performance.

Controlling symmetrical or asymmetrical growth has allowed a series of novel nanomaterials with prominent physicochemical properties to be produced. However, precise and continuous size growth based on a preserved template has long been a challenging pursuit, yet little has been achieved in terms of manipulation at the atomic level. Here, a correlated silver cluster series has been established, enabling atomically precise manipulation of symmetrical and asymmetrical surface structure expansions of metal nanoclusters.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are hybrid inorganic-organic 3D coordination polymers with metal sites and organic linkers, which are a "hot" topic in the research of sorption, separations, catalysis, sensing, and environmental remediation. In this study, we explore the molecular mechanism and kinetics of interaction of the new copper porphyrin aluminum metal-organic framework (actAl-MOF-TCPPCu) compound with a vapor of the volatile organic sulfur compound (VOSC) diethyl sulfide (DES). First, compound was synthesized by post-synthetic modification (PSM) of Al-MOF-TCPPH compound by inserting Cu ions into the porphyrin ring and characterized by complementary qualitative and quantitative chemical, structural, and spectroscopic analysis.
