Reports supporting the shortened dental arch concepts showed that the SDAs were stable in occlusion and TMJ for several years, and that effects of partial dentures on distal extension edentulous patients were unclear. However some studies are difficult to understand their conclusions after careful reviewing. Our data of 921 subjects demonstrated the prevalence of SDA, percentage of denture wearers in distal extension missing patients, and comparisons of occlusal force and masticatory performance between denture wearers and non-wearers (SDAs). To clarify the effect of prostheses, longitudinal studies or randomized controlled trials on oral function must be needed in further investigation.

Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) are involved in the maintenance and regeneration of a large variety of tissues due to their stemness and multi-lineage differentiation capability. Harnessing these advantageous features, a flurry of clinical trials have focused on MSCs to treat different pathologies, but only few protocols have received regulatory approval so far. Among the various causes hindering MSCs' efficacy is the emergence of cellular senescence, which has been correlated with specific characteristics, such as morphological and epigenetic alterations, DNA damage, ROS production, mitochondrial dysfunction, telomere shortening, non-coding RNAs, loss of proteostasis, and a peculiar senescence-associated secretory phenotype.

Statement Of The Problem: Previous longitudinal studies have found that patients with shortened dental arches (SDA) have a higher risk of long-term tooth loss than complete dental arch (CDA). However, the difference between SDA and CDA concerning oral function has yet to be demonstrated.
Purpose: We aimed to clarify the influence of molar occlusal support on oral function in SDA and CDA participants cross-sectionally and longitudinally.

In 2008 the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB) Review of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) recommended that OMFS specialty training should start with second-degree studies. This recommendation has not yet happened. Currently, no OMFS controlled places at medical/dental schools are directly linked to OMFS Specialty Training (ST) posts.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the osseointegration properties of titanium bone implants coated with carob-mediated calcium hydroxide nanoparticles biomechanically, radiographically, and histologically on rabbit tibias.
Material And Methods: Forty coated and forty uncoated titanium alloy bone implants were inserted into 20 New Zealand rabbits; each tibia received 2 implants. The rabbits were sacrificed after 4 or 8 weeks, and samples were retrieved for biomechanical evaluation through removal torque test to assess the bond between implant and bone, radiographic evaluation through microcomputed tomography analysis to compare the bone-to-implant contact percentage and bone volume of the peri-implant area, scanning electron microscopic and histologic evaluation through hematoxylin and eosin stain.

Introduction: Atrial pacing maps are often used as substitutes for sinus rhythm (SR) maps to expedite mapping procedures. However, the impact of this method on electrophysiological parameters has not been systematically examined. This study aimed to elucidate the advantages and limitations of atrial pacing maps.
