Objective: Study of antibodies against laminin-1 in IgG in patients with habitual abortion.
Design: Prospective study.
Methods: Commercial ELISA method for detection of IgG antibodies against laminin-1 in ovulatory cervical mucus, in sera in women with repeated spontaneous abortions, in sera in patients during spontaneous miscarriages.
Results: Positive levels of antibodies against laminine-1 in IgG in sera were found in patients during spontaneous abortions, as to ovulatory mucus of infertile women in time out of pregnancy, we did not find any positivity, only in one serum sample in patient with three pregnancy losses in her history.
Conclusion: Antibodies against adhesive molecule as laminin-1 presents, can participate during diagnosis of repated spontaneous miscarriages in context of neuro-endocrinne-immune dysregulation, which is not seen during physiological pregnancy.

Background: Laminin-1 and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 may play roles in the progression from benign to malignant endometrium, so we aimed to investigate their levels of expression in these tissues.
Methods: This case-control study was conducted at a tertiary care center between January 2014 and December 2016. Paraffin blocks of 50 specimens of benign endometrium with proliferative (n = 20), secretory (n = 11), and atrophic (n = 5) endometrium; simple endometrial hyperplasia without atypia (n = 12); and endometrial polyp (n = 2) histology and 49 specimens of malignant endometrium with endometrioid (n = 40), serous (n = 7), clear cell (n = 1), and undifferentiated (n = 1) types were immunostained with laminin-1 and MMP-9 antibodies and assessed for basement membrane continuity for laminin-1 and the percentage and intensity of MMP-9 expression in epithelial cytoplasm.

Purpose: To study the composition of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) of the retina, the extracellular matrix (ECM) of idiopathic epiretinal membranes (iERMs), and the relationships occurring between the two membranes.
Methods: Forty-six iERMs, 24 of them associated with the ILM, were collected and included in this study. The investigation has been carried out by immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy on glutaraldehyde- and osmium-fixed epon-embedded samples and on frozen samples.

The basement membrane that seperates the endothelial cells and astrocytic endfeet that comprise the blood-brain barrier is rich in collagen, laminin, agrin, and perlecan. Previous studies have demonstrated that the proper recruitment of the water-permeable channel aquaporin-4 (AQP4) to astrocytic endfeet is dependent on interactions between laminin and the receptor dystroglycan. In this study, we conducted a deeper investigation into how the basement membrane might further regulate the expression, localization, and function of AQP4, using primary astrocytes as a model system.
