An approach for designing multiwavelets is introduced, for use in cardiac signal processing. The parameterization of the class of multiwavelets is in terms of associated FIR polyphase all-pass filters. Orthogonality and a balanced vanishing moment of order 1 are built into the parameterization. An optimization criterion is developed to associate the wavelets with different meaningful segments of a signal. This approach is demonstrated on the simultaneous detection of QRS-complexes and T-peaks in ECG signals.

Purpose Of Review: Traditionally viewed as a passive player in circulation, the right ventricle (RV) has become a pivotal force in hemodynamics. RV failure (RVF) is a recognized complication of primary cardiac and pulmonary vascular disorders and is associated with a poor prognosis. Unlike treatments for left ventricular failure (LVF), strategies such as adrenoceptor signaling inhibition and renin-angiotensin system modulation have shown limited success in RVF.

Sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) is a common acute and severe reason of death in the intensive care unit. Although the pathogenesis is complicated and multifactorial, elevated inflammation and oxidative stress are considered as fundamental mechanisms for the progression of ALI. Anemonin is a natural compound with diverse biological properties including anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects.

In every heartbeat, cardiac muscle cells perform excitation-Ca signaling-contraction (EC) coupling to pump blood against the vascular resistance. Cardiomyocytes can sense the mechanical load and activate mechano-chemo-transduction (MCT) mechanism, which provides feedback regulation of EC coupling. MCT feedback is important for the heart to upregulate contraction in response to increased load to maintain cardiac output.

Purpose: The aim of the work is to develop a cascaded diffusion-based super-resolution model for low-resolution (LR) MR tagging acquisitions, which is integrated with parallel imaging to achieve highly accelerated MR tagging while enhancing the tag grid quality of low-resolution images.
Methods: We introduced TagGen, a diffusion-based conditional generative model that uses low-resolution MR tagging images as guidance to generate corresponding high-resolution tagging images. The model was developed on 50 patients with long-axis-view, high-resolution tagging acquisitions.

Purpose: Pulmonary MRI faces challenges due to low proton density, rapid transverse magnetization decay, and cardiac and respiratory motion. The fermat-looped orthogonally encoded trajectories (FLORET) sequence addresses these issues with high sampling efficiency, strong signal, and motion robustness, but has not yet been applied to phase-resolved functional lung (PREFUL) MRI-a contrast-free method for assessing pulmonary ventilation during free breathing. This study aims to develop a reconstruction pipeline for FLORET UTE, enhancing spatial resolution for three-dimensional (3D) PREFUL ventilation analysis.
