Background: Unregulated contaminants in drinking water, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), can contribute to cumulative health risks, particularly in overburdened and less-advantaged communities. To our knowledge, there has been no nationwide assessment of socioeconomic disparities in exposures to unregulated contaminants in drinking water.
Objective: The goals of this study were to identify determinants of unregulated contaminant detection among US public water systems (PWSs) and evaluate disparities related to race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.

The R-LINE model, which was released in 2013 as a stand-alone model for roadway-type applications and was based on a set of newly developed dispersion curves, exhibited favorable model performance in a limited set of evaluations. In 2019, the R-LINE model was incorporated as the RLINE source type in EPA's preferred near-field dispersion model AERMOD. Since its inclusion in AERMOD, the RLINE source type has been tested and compared to other AERMOD source types using multiple data sets and transportation studies.

Background: PAH exposure is associated with adverse health outcomes, but exposure sources in pregnancy are not well-understood.
Objectives: We examined associations between urinary OH-PAHs during pregnancy and environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) and short-term ambient air pollution exposure. Participants included 1603 pregnant non-smokers in three cohorts from 7 sites across the USA.

Introduction: Approximately 25 million children ride buses to school in the United States. While school buses remain the safest school transport from a traffic accident perspective, older buses can expose students to high levels of diesel exhaust. These exposures can adversely affect health, which might cause missed school days and reduced learning.

Background: A petroleum leak into the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam water system on Oahu, Hawaii in November 2021 contaminated the drinking water of approximately 93,000 users, causing many to relocate for months. Perceptions of health and wellbeing were captured using the Centers for Disease Control/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (CDC/ATSDR) Assessment of Chemical Exposures (ACE) cross-sectional survey in collaboration with the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH).
Methods: Responses from the ACE online survey of community members, businesses, schools, health care and veterinary care organizations during the contamination event, containing quantitative questions and qualitative information from an open text field, were analyzed.
