Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) are non-invasive therapies widely used for pain relief and neuromuscular adaptation. However, the clinical research supporting the efficacy of TENS in chronic pain management is limited by significant methodological flaws, including small sample sizes and inconsistent reporting of stimulation parameters. TENS modulates pain perception through various techniques, targeting specific nerve fibers and pain pathways.

Grip strength is widely used as a surrogate parameter for functional status. The current gold standard, the JAMAR Hydraulic Dynamometer (JAMAR Hydraulic), presents challenges for individuals with painful finger joints or low grip strength. Therefore, the objective of this observational study was to assess comparability across the JAMAR Smart, the Martin Vigorimeter and the gold standard.

Background: Low back pain is a common musculoskeletal condition which causes substantial disability globally. The biopsychosocial model of management has been recommended in national and international guidelines for the management of patients with chronic low back pain (CLBP). However, biopsychosocial approaches are predominantly delivered in high income countries (HICs), although the prevalence of LBP is substantially higher in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) especially in Africa (39%; 95% CI 30-47).

Background: While technology brings many opportunities for optimizing and improving health services, the lack of professionals trained in telehealth poses an important obstacle. Despite the existance of core competency frameworks for some healthcare professions, there is currently no consensus or guidelines on the core competencies that telehealth professionals should possess within the context of a higher education curriculum. This can hinder the potential benefits of healthcare service delivery.

Introduction/objective: Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) is an extremely painful condition without an established treatment other than symptom-suppressive medications or temporary relief from corticosteroid injections. Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) have demonstrated the ability to enhance healing and reduce inflammation and pain without side effects. Our objective was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of CT-guided foramen ovale MSC injection in the treatment of TN.
