The authors analyzed the condition of 51 patients in the early period of operation for ulcer and cholelithiasis. It was found that most patients showed asthenic, dyspeptic and pam syndromes, anemia, hypoacidic or achylous gastritis, inflammation at the operative site. As a result of treatment at the Mirgorod health resort (physiotherapy, mineral water) there occurred a significant improvement in the patients' condition. It is concluded that rehabilitation of patients following surgical intervention on the 20th day of operation for ulcer and cholelithiasis at the Mirgorod health resort has good perspectives.

Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anatomical anomaly, in which the pancreatic parenchyma surrounds the descending duodenum. Generally, annular pancreas is diagnosed on the basis of symptoms associated with complications of peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, cholelithiasis, and rarely, malignant tumors. Herein, we report an 84-year-old man for whom, during hospitalization for a urinary tract infection, pancreatic cystic lesions and an annular pancreas were noted incidentally on computed tomography.

Previous observational studies have suggested that higher levels of education attainment and intelligence (IQ) are associated with better health outcomes in humans. Purpose: This study was aimed to identify serum proteins linked with gastrointestinal diseases by proteome-wide Mendelian randomization analysis.
Methods: We determined the casual relationship between 732 kinds of circulating proteins and the 24 kinds of gastrointestinal diseases via Mendelian randomization analysis.
Results: Four circulating proteins (FCGR3B, IL-12B, MAPKAPK2, and IL-23R) were associated with the occurrence of ulcerative colitis (UC), and IL23R was also correlated with risk of Crohn's disease (CD).

Introduction: Gallstone diseases affect intestinal inflammation, bile flow, and gut microbiota, which in turn may increase the risk of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, epidemiological studies exploring the associations between gallstone diseases and subsequent IBD risk have been limited.
Methods: This is a combined analysis of 3 prospective cohort studies (Nurses' Health Study, Nurses' Health Study II, and UK Biobank) and replicated in a case-control study (Chinese IBD Etiology Study).
