Arrest of chromosomes at bouquet configuration at zygothene leads to meiotic restitution in some haploids and allohaploids in cereals: univalents are transported preferentially to one spindle pole in bipolar spindle because of their oriented position in the beginning of prometaphase.

Formation of the synaptonemal complex (SC) is a prerequisite for proper recombination and chromosomal segregation during meiotic prophase I. One mechanism that ensures SC formation is chromosomal movement, which is driven by the force derived from cytoskeletal motors. Here, we report the phenotype of medaka mutants lacking the telomere repeat binding bouquet formation protein 1 (TERB1), which, in combination with the SUN/KASH protein, mediates chromosomal movement by connecting telomeres and cytoskeletal motors.

Formation of a carotid free-floating thrombus (CFFT) is a rare and life-threatening condition without an optimal management plan. A 78-year-old woman with a history of prior right internal carotid artery (ICA) mechanical thrombectomy and antiplatelet noncompliance presented with transient ischemic attacks secondary to a recurrent CFFT in the right ICA. Given her symptoms and recurrent CFFT, endovascular mechanical thrombectomy was performed.

Background: Buprenorphine is a gold-standard treatment for opioid use disorders, but most people with these disorders do not access it. Barriers to treatment access may be diminished by low-threshold mobile treatment programs but concern regarding their impact on local public safety challenges their adoption.
Methods: This quasi-experimental study uses difference-in-differences analyses to measure the impact of four mobile buprenorphine clinics in Pittsburgh on neighborhood arrest rates.

As an evolutionarily conserved process, the bouquet stage during meiosis was discovered over a century ago, and active research on this important stage continues. Since the discovery of the first bouquet-related protein Taz1p in 1998, several bouquet formation-related proteins have been identified in various eukaryotes. These proteins are involved in the interaction between telomeres and the inner nuclear membrane (INM), and once these interactions are disrupted, meiotic progression is arrested, leading to infertility.

Histone modification and nucleosome assembly are mainly regulated by various histone-modifying enzymes and chaperones. The roles of histone-modification enzymes have been well analyzed, but the molecular mechanism of histone chaperones in histone modification and nucleosome assembly is incompletely understood. We previously found that the histone chaperone Nrp1 is localized in the micronucleus (MIC) and the macronucleus (MAC) and involved in the chromatin stability and nuclear division of .
