Chemical reactions and processes often involve chiral, yet racemic, cationic reagents, intermediates, or products. To afford instead nonracemic or enantiopure compounds, an asymmetric ion pairing of the cations with enantiopure anions can be considered--the counter ions behaving as asymmetric auxiliaries, ligands, or reagents. Detailed herein is a short review of our approach toward gaining reliable and predictable control over stereoselective ion pairing phenomena through the synthesis and use of novel configurationally stable hexacoordinated phosphate anions.

Buccal drug delivery emerges as a promising strategy to enhance the absorption of drugs classified under the Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) Class III, characterized by high solubility and low permeability. However, addressing the absorption challenges of BCS Class III drugs necessitates innovative formulation strategies. This review delves into optimizing buccal drug delivery for BCS III drugs, focusing on various formulation approaches to improve absorption.

In this study, we synthesized perovskite BaSrSnO ceramics with a unique thorn-like microstructure using the solid-state reaction method. The structural and complex dielectric properties were investigated in detail. X-ray diffraction was employed to characterize the phase purity, while X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy was used to analyze the chemical state of the components.

This in vitro study evaluated the effects of brushing with activated charcoal powder or toothpaste on enamel surface properties, including color change (ΔE), Knoop microhardness (HK), roughness (Ra), and the characteristics of the resulting brushing slurry [pH, fluoride (F), and calcium (Ca) concentration]. A total of 48 enamel samples were stained and divided into 4 groups ( = 12): activated charcoal toothpaste (AC-T), activated charcoal powder (AC-P), hydrogen peroxide-based whitening toothpaste (HP-T), and conventional toothpaste (C-T, positive control). The samples were subjected to a brushing cycling model, and ΔE, HK, Ra and enamel morphology were analyzed at baseline (T0) and after brushing cycle (T1).

Owing to its abundant manganese source, high operating voltage, and good ionic diffusivity attributed to its 3D Li-ion diffusion channels. Spinel LiMnO is considered a promising low-cost positive electrode material in the context of reducing scarce elements such as cobalt and nickel from advanced lithium-ion batteries. However, the rapid capacity degradation and inadequate rate capabilities induced by the Jahn-Teller distortion and the manganese dissolution have limited the large-scale adoption of spinel LiMnO for decades.
