Idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel), an anti-B-cell maturation chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, represents an unprecedented treatment option for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM). Nevertheless, given its limitations, including the risk of adverse effects and unclear durability of efficacy, there remains a need to report the real-world clinical outcomes of ide-cel therapy in patients with R/R MM, as well as explore host predictive factors for therapy. We performed a single-center retrospective analysis of 25 adult patients with R/R MM who received ide-cel between 2021 and 2023 at the University of California San Diego Health.

Recent advances in molecular genetics, particularly in identifying and characterizing genetic abnormalities within mesenchymal neoplasms, have led to a more comprehensive and evolving classification system. Modern technological developments in cytogenetics and next-generation sequencing have enabled the analysis of small clinical samples, expanded our understanding of tumor biology, and improved the diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive precision by identifying targeted genetic alterations, confirming the presence of fusion transcripts, and/or revealing the overexpression of specific genes and their targets. In this review, we focus specifically on the -rearranged enteric tumor, a recent clinicopathological entity that has emerged within the expanding classification of mesenchymal tumors.

Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) are premalignant stages in the development of multiple myeloma (MM). Advances in detection, risk stratification, and therapeutic intervention have transformed our understanding of disease progression. Multiple myeloma (MM) is a heterogeneous disease, with MM patients experiencing different clinical outcomes depending on the disease's biological features. Novel insights into the molecular mechanisms of MM have led to the introduction of sophisticated drugs, which dramatically improved patient treatment and survival.
