, the causative agent of Chagas disease, can be congenitally transmitted by crossing the placental barrier. This study investigates the role of -derived exovesicles (TcEVs) in facilitating parasite infection and the consequent tissue damage and apoptotic cell death in human placental explants (HPEs). Our findings demonstrate that TcEVs significantly enhance the parasite load and induce tissue damage in HPEs, both in the presence and absence of the parasite.

The subgenus Stenocranius contains two cryptic species: Lasiopodomys gregalis (subdivided into three allopatrically distributed and genetically well-isolated lineages A, B, and C) and Lasiopodomys raddei. To identify karyotype characteristics of this poorly studied cryptic species complex, we used comparative cytogenetic analysis of 138 individuals from 41 localities in South Siberia and Mongolia. A detailed description of the L.

Persistent nocardiosis has prompted exploration of the effectiveness of heterologous approaches to prevent severe infections. We have previously reported the efficacy of a nucleic acid vaccine in protecting groupers from highly virulent Nocardia seriolae infections. Ongoing research has involved the supplementation of recombinant cholesterol oxidase (rCho) proteins through immunization with a DNA vaccine to enhance the protective capacity of orange-spotted groupers.
