Background: Ablative fractional CO laser (10,600 nm) treatment creates an array of microscopic treatment zones composed of an ablation zone (AZ) surrounded by a denatured coagulation zone (CZ). The CZ is believed to play a functional role in skin tightening, posttreatment inflammation, and laser-assisted drug delivery. This study investigates the viability of enzymatic post-processing to remove the CZ without affecting the surrounding tissue.

Study Objectives: Clinical utility of home polysomnography in children with neuromuscular disorders is limited by lack of evidence that sleep-disordered breathing can be reliably identified and inability to diagnose hypoventilation as carbon dioxide is not measured.
Methods: This study aimed to determine feasibility, accuracy and parent satisfaction for home polysomnography performed with a Type 2 portable monitoring device and a transcutaneous CO monitor. Results of laboratory and home polysomnography were compared with Mann-Whitney U tests and random intercept regression models.

Rationale: Sleep-related hypoventilation disorder (SHD) is common among obese patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), but the pathological endotypes associated with obesity and SHD remain unclear.
Objectives: To investigate relationship between endotypes with body mass index (BMI) among patients with OSA, and to explore endotypic traits of patients with comorbid SHD.
Methods: We prospectively collected polysomnographic studies of 1364 patients with OSA, and overnight transcutaneous CO2 (TcCO2) measurements among 420 obese patients.

Central sleep apneas (CSA) can occur de novo at high-altitude in individuals without sleep-disordered breathing at low altitude. These apneas are usually brief, lasting only 5-15 s. This report presents the first documented case of a man experiencing extreme altitude-induced CSA lasting more than 100 s in the absence of any sleep breathing disorder in normoxia.

Transcutaneous carbon dioxide (TcPCO2) monitoring provides a non-invasive alternative to measuring arterial carbon dioxide (PaCO2), making it valuable for various applications, such as sleep diagnostics and neonatal care. However, traditional transcutaneous monitors are bulky, expensive, and pose risks such as skin burns. To address these limitations, we have introduced a compact, cost-effective CMOS imager-based sensor for TcPCO2 detection by utilizing colorimetric reactions with metal-organic framework (MOF)-based nano-hybrid materials.
