Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary bone cancer in children and young adults. This type of cancer is characterized by a high mortality rate, especially for patients with resistant lung metastases. Given its low incidence, high genetic heterogeneity, the lack of effective targets, and poor availability of relevant in vitro and in vivo models to study the tumor progression and the metastatic cascade, the pathophysiology of OS is still poorly understood and the translation of novel drugs into the market has become stagnant.

Carcinoid tumors are slow-growing tumors noticed in the tracheobronchial tree and pulmonary parenchyma. Generally, these tumors are slow growing with minimum risk of distant metastasis, but the atypical type of carcinoids has greater malignant potential with lower survival rates. The primary and most effective treatment for all pulmonary carcinoid tumors is surgical resection if no contraindications to surgery exist.

The reason why certain bacteria, , (PA), produce acetylated alginate (Alg) in their biofilms remains one of the most intriguing facts in microbiology. Being the main structural component of the secreted biofilm, like the one formed in the lungs of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients, Alg plays a crucial role in protecting the bacteria from environmental stress and potential threats. Nonetheless, to investigate the PA biofilm environment and its lack of susceptibility to antibiotic treatment, the currently developed biofilm models use native seaweed Alg, which is a non-acetylated Alg.

Background: Revealing the clinical manifestations and associations of COVID-19 before and after negative transition remains an area of significant uncertainty. The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical characteristics observed during and after Omicron infection among a specific population, namely healthcare workers (HCWs).
Methods: From November 4, 2022, to January 15, 2023, HCWs in our hospital were enrolled to document clinical symptoms, prevention, and treatment for COVID-19 using a structured questionnaire.
Background: Pulmonary Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (PLCH) is a rare interstitial lung disease primarily affecting young to middle-aged smokers. While traditionally linked to tobacco use, there is growing evidence that cannabis use may contribute to PLCH.
Methods: We present a case of a 52-year-old male with PLCH associated with heavy cannabis use.
