Intracavity second-harmonic generation of a diode-pumped Nd:YLiF(4) ring laser oscillating on the sigma-polarized (4)F(3/2) - (4)I(13/2) transition (lambda(omega) ~ 1314 nm) with a temperature-tuned periodically poled KTiOPO(4) (ppKTP) crystal is reported, yielding up to 0.92 W tunable (lambda(2omega) = 656-658 nm) single-frequency output. Evidence of self-mode-locking via cascading nonlinearities is observed when the ppKTP is strongly phase mismatched.

We demonstrate first-order quasi-phase-matched backward second-harmonic generation (BSHG) with an efficiency of 18.7%. This represents an increase by two orders of magnitude from earlier experiments employing higher-order quasi-phase-matching.

The 3 µm photons were upconverted to 790 nm in a periodically poled rubidium-doped crystal through intracavity mixing inside a 1064 nm : laser and detected using a conventional silicon single-photon avalanche detector (SPAD). The lidar system could distinguish 1 mm deep features on a diffusely reflecting target, limited by the SPAD and time-tagging electronics.

We have experimentally created a robust, ultrabright and phase-stable polarization-entangled state close to maximally entangled Bell-state with %98-fidelity using the type-II spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) process in periodically-poled KTiOPO (PPKTP) collinear crystal inside a Sagnac interferometer (SI). Bell inequality measurement, Freedman's test, as the different versions of CHSH inequality, and also visibility test which all can be seen as the nonlocal realism tests, imply that our created entangled state shows a strong violation from the classical physics or any hidden-variable theory. We have obtained very reliable and very strong Bell violation as with high brightness and and very strong violation due to Freedman test as .

The domain stability was investigated, and it was found that domain gratings with uncharged walls could stand the ion-exchange process without deterioration. 3.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe worked on a new scheme of quasi-phase matching (QPM) based on the negative first order of the spatial modulation of the sign of the second-order nonlinearity. Applying this scheme in the case of angular-QPM (AQPM) in a biaxial crystal reveals new directions of propagation for efficient parametric frequency conversion as well as "giant" spectral acceptances. The experimental validation is performed in a periodically poled rubidium-doped biaxial crystal.
