Relative electrophoretic mobility (REM) of alcohol dehydrogenases from equine hepatocyte cytoplasm was low probably due to the presence of a loop which consisted of 21 amino acid residues in the surface layer of the enzyme subunits. The REM of multiple molecular forms of alcohol dehydrogenases from yeast cell cytoplasm was higher as consistent with the absence of this loop in the surface layer of the enzyme subunits. Possible role of amino acid residues comprising the loop, in the formation of total charge and their effect on REM values of enzymes from the alcohol/polyol dehydrogenase family are discussed.

Graphene, a two-dimensional material featuring densely packed sp-hybridized carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice, has revolutionized material science. Laser-induced graphene (LIG) represents a breakthrough method for producing graphene from both commercial and natural precursors via direct laser writing, offering advantages such as simplicity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This study demonstrates a novel approach to synthesize a composite material exclusively from a porous organic polymer (POP) by direct femtosecond laser writing on a compressed imide-linked porous organic polymer substrate.

This study developed the multifunctional cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) as emulsifier for preparation of antibacterial, ultrastable and non-toxic emulsion. To achieve these properties, CNFs were oxidated using sodium periodate to introduce aldehyde groups, which served as Schiff-base reaction sites for amino groups of polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG), yielding PHMG-grafted CNFs (PCNFs). The modified CNFs retained good emulsification ability while acquiring antibacterial properties.

In the current investigation, the efficiency inhibition of two newly synthesized bi-pyrazole derivatives, namely 2,3-bis[(bis((1 H-pyrazol-1-yl) methyl) amino)] pyridine (Tetra-Pz-Ortho) and 1,4-bis[(bis((1 H-pyrazol-1-yl) methyl) amino)] benzene (Tetra-Pz-Para) for corrosion of carbon steel (C&S) in 1 M HCl medium was evaluated. A Comparative study of inhibitor effect of Tetra-Pz-Ortho and Tetra-Pz-Para was conducted first using weight loss method and EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) and PDP (Potentiodynamic Polarisation) techniques. Tetra-Pz-Ortho and Tetra-Pz-Para had a maximum inhibition efficacy of 97.

Cleaning and sterilization are critical Prerequisite Programs in sanitation management based on HACCP. Most food factories clean and sanitize equipment daily after production using detergents containing benzalkonium chloride (BAC). However, in factories that produce oil and fat-rich foods, it has been discovered that microbes can persist on production equipment.

Tissue adhesives have attracted wide attention as alternatives to sutures. Further developments in adhesives with excellent adhesion and biocompatibility for wet tissue surfaces are still required. This study provides a new solution for the development of bioadhesives for use on tissue surfaces under wet conditions.
