In this article, we aim to demonstrate that thyroid carcinoma can metastasize to the small bowel. This case report involves a 66-year-old woman who underwent total thyroidectomy surgery in 2019, with histopathology revealing a 3A undifferentiated thyroid cancer. She presented with symptoms of bowel obstruction, including abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Purpose: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for distal medium vessel occlusions (DMVOs) in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) is less established than for large vessel occlusions. This study evaluates the safety and efficacy of MT in DMVOs, comparing it with M1-segment occlusions.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 218 patients who underwent MT for isolated M1 (n=123) or distal M2+M3 (n=35) occlusions between January 2020 and August 2023.

Background: Conjunctival sporotrichosis is a rare fungal infection, typically presenting as granulomatous lesions. Its manifestations can be atypical, particularly in immunosuppressed patients. A perforation allows intestinal contents (IC) to enter the peritoneal cavity, causing abdominal infections. Right- and left-sided perforations have different prognoses in humans, but the mechanisms associated with different cecum and colon perforations remain unclear.

Background: In the last years, the Cor-Knot device has been increasingly used in heart valve surgery. Our aim was to investigate the incidence of valvular complications in patients who underwent valvular surgery using the Cor-Knot device in multicentric cohorts at one-year follow-up.
Methods: Three hundred and sixty-eight patient underwent heart valve repair or replacement surgery using automated titanium suture fasteners in four cardiothoracic surgery departments between September 2018 and January 2020.
