Identification and characterization of circulating and adipose tissue infiltrated CD20T cells from subjects with obesity that undergo bariatric surgery.

Electronic address:

T cells play critical roles in adipose tissue (AT) inflammation. The role of CD20T cell in AT dysfunction and their contributing to insulin resistance (IR) and type 2 diabetes progression, is not known. The aim was to characterize CD20T cells in omental (OAT), subcutaneous (SAT) and peripheral blood (PB) from subjects with obesity (OB, n = 42), by flow cytometry.

Extracellular matrix modulates depot-specific adipogenic capacity in adipose tissue of dairy cattle.

J Dairy Sci

November 2024

Department of Veterinary Sciences, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX 79409; School of Veterinary Medicine, Texas Tech University, Amarillo, TX 79106. Electronic address:

Adipose tissue (AT) expands through both hyperplasia and hypertrophy. During adipogenesis, adipose stromal and progenitor cells (ASPC) proliferate and then accumulate lipids, influenced by the local AT microenvironment. Increased adipogenic capacity is desirable as it relates to metabolic health, especially in transition dairy cows where excess free fatty acids in circulation can compromise metabolic and immune health.

Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a rare pancreatic tumor type, and ruptured pancreatic tumors are rarer. Computed tomography (CT) in a 48-year-old man incidentally revealed a raptured pancreatic tail tumor. The patient was treated conservatively because he was asymptomatic, and his general condition was stable.

Circulating leukocytes enter tissue either through endothelial junctions (paracellular) or via a pore through the body of endothelial cells (transcellular). We have previously shown that genetically replacing VE-cadherin with a VE-cadherin-α-catenin (VEC-αC) fusion construct-which binds constitutively to actin-obstructs junctions, and blocks leukocyte extravasation in lung, skin and postcapillary venules of cremaster muscle. However, neutrophil recruitment into the inflamed peritoneal cavity was unimpaired.

Aim: C1q/TNF-related protein 6 (CTRP6) is a novel adipokine involved in insulin resistance. Thus, we aim to investigate the expression profile of CTRP6 in the plasma, adipose tissue and placenta of GDM patients and mice.

Methods: Chinese Han pregnant women (GDM = 9, control = 10) with a scheduled caesarean section delivery were recruited.
