An international mixed methods study of resilience of 14 sites in eleven countries identified seven tensions that youth resolve in culturally specific ways. Resolution of these tensions is foundational to experiences of resilience. This paper reports on the qualitative findings from interviews with 89 youth. Results support a culturally embedded understanding of positive youth development that better accounts for young people's resilience in western and non-western countries. Specifically, the seven tensions identified include: access to material resources, relationships, identity, cohesion, power and control, social justice, and cultural adherence. Findings show that no one pattern in the resolution of these tensions predicts resilience better than another. A case study of a Palestinian boy demonstrates the intersection of the seven tensions and the uniqueness of their resolution. The implications of this work for interventions is discussed.

Purpose: We aim to understand the link between field-level institutional logics and practice-level social interactions and relationships between public and private actors and their influences on the responses and resolutions to the issues causing tensions.
Design/methodology/approach: Adopting a multiple logics perspective with a focus on social interactions and relationships between public and private actors, we conducted a multiple case study in five city hospitals recently established under a public-private partnership model in the Turkish healthcare field.
Findings: We found that the state and market logics that predominantly characterize the Turkish healthcare field were enacted in each of the five hospitals in different manners and constitute three different configurations as compatible, complementary and contradictory.

Understanding the molecular mechanisms of pore formation is crucial for elucidating fundamental biological processes and developing therapeutic strategies, such as the design of drug delivery systems and antimicrobial agents. Although experimental methods can provide valuable information, they often lack the temporal and spatial resolution necessary to fully capture the dynamic stages of pore formation. In this study, we present two novel collective variables (CVs) designed to characterize membrane pore behavior, particularly its energetics, through molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.

Background: As an umbrella term, social prescribing offers varied routes into society which promise to support, enhance, and empower individual citizens to take control of their own health and wellbeing. Globally healthcare systems are struggling to cope with the increasing demands of an ageing population and the NHS (UK) is no exception. Social prescribing is heralded as a means to relieve the burden on primary care and provide support for the 20% of patients whose needs are non-medical.

Care, while having no clear boundaries, facilitates a nurturing that requires a disposition to act in another's interests. Care, however, is never disinterested and dividing practices vie with transformative potential, to define what is regarded as appropriate support. Current healthcare for young people who question their gender identity reflect this tension, particularly in the UK, where ideological inscriptions can subvert caring intent.
