Introduction: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a metabolic disorder related to obesity and insulin resistance and is the primary determinant of the development of low-intensity chronic inflammation. This continuous inflammatory response culminates in neuroimmune-endocrine dysregulation responsible for the metabolic abnormalities and morbidities observed in individuals with MetS. Events such as the accumulation of visceral adipose tissue, increased plasma concentrations of free fatty acids, tissue hypoxia, and sympathetic hyperactivity in individuals with MetS may contribute to the activation of the innate immune response, which compromises cerebral microcirculation and the neurovascular unit, leading to the onset or progression of neurodegenerative diseases.

Background: The neuroimmune response, characterised by the proliferation and activation of microglial cells, is a driver of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the extent of immune cell infiltration and interactions in the human AD brain are yet to be established in detail. While microglial cells are at the centre of this neuroimmune response, recent research has explored the possibility of peripheral immune cell involvement, typically focusing on T-cell infiltration.

Purpose Of Review: To evaluate the role of neuroimmune signalling pathways in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).
Recent Findings: The sinonasal mucosa is densely infiltrated by immune cells and neuronal structures that share an intimate spatial relationship within tissue compartments. Together, such neuroimmune units play a critical role in airway defence and homeostatic function.

Patients suffering from psoriatic arthritis (PsA) often experience depression due to chronic joint pain, which significantly hinders their recovery process. However, the relationship between these two conditions is not well understood. Through a review of existing studies, we revealed that certain neuroendocrine hormones and neurotransmitters are involved in the neuroimmune interactions related to both PsA and depression.
