The dynamic turnover of actin filaments drives the morphogenesis and migration of all eukaryotic cells. This review summarizes recent insights into the molecular mechanisms of actin polymerization and disassembly obtained through high-resolution structures of actin filament assemblies. We first describe how, upon polymerization, actin subunits age within the filament through changes in their associated adenine nucleotide.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor Y27632 on bioenergetic capacity and resilience of corneal endothelial cells (CECs) under metabolic stress.
Methods: Bovine CECs (BCECs) were treated with Y27632 and subjected to bioenergetic profiling using the Seahorse XFp Analyzer. The effects on adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production through oxidative phosphorylation and glycolysis were measured.

The purpose of this study was to measure T and T relaxation times of NAD proton resonances in the downfield H MRS spectrum in human brain at 7 T in vivo and to assess the propagation of relaxation time uncertainty in NAD quantification. Downfield spectra from eight healthy volunteers were acquired at multiple echo times to measure T relaxation times, and saturation recovery data were acquired to measure T relaxation times. Background: The cryoinjury of semen during cryopreservation reduces sperm motility, constraining the application of artificial insemination (AI) in bovine reproduction. Some fertility markers, related to sperm motility before and after freezing have been identified. Microglia and the border-associated macrophages contribute to the modulation of cerebral blood flow, but the mechanisms have remained uncertain. Here, we show that microglia regulate the cerebral blood flow baseline and the responses to whisker stimulation or intra-cisternal magna injection of adenosine triphosphate, but not intra-cisternal magna injection of adenosine in mice model. Notably, microglia repopulation corrects these cerebral blood flow anomalies.
