Human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) are emerging as critical elements in host genomic regulation. Aberrant HERV transcription has been implicated in developmental and tissue-specific aging and pathological processes. In this study, we presented a comprehensive locus-specific characterization of the HERV expression landscape in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).

Clinical Challenges of Consensus Molecular Subtype CMS4 Colon Cancer in the Era of Precision Medicine.

Clin Cancer Res

June 2024

Team "Personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics, therapeutic optimization", Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, INSERM, Sorbonne Université, Université Paris Cité, Paris, France.

Over the past decade, our understanding of the diversity of colorectal cancer has expanded significantly, raising hopes of tailoring treatments more precisely for individual patients. A key achievement in this direction was the establishment of the consensus molecular classification, particularly identifying the challenging consensus molecular subtype (CMS) CMS4 associated with poor prognosis. Because of its aggressive nature, extensive research is dedicated to the CMS4 subgroup.

Subcutaneous anakinra in the management of refractory MIS-C in France.

Front Pediatr

February 2024

CEREMAIA, Pediatric Rheumatology, Bicêtre University Hospital, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris, University of Paris Saclay, Le Kremlin Bicêtre, France.

Introduction: Multisystemic inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a therapeutic emergency and can lead to myocardial dysfunction (17%-75%) and heart failure (52%-53%). Intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG) and corticosteroids (CST) have been validated for the management of this condition. Recent reports suggest that an interleukin-1 (IL-1) receptor antagonist, namely anakinra, may be a valuable add-on to the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) treatment for refractory patients.
