Atypical fibroxanthoma (AF) is an unusual cutaneous fibrohistiocytic tumour that is most commonly found in ENT sun-exposed areas of elderly males. Cardiac transplant patients have an increased incidence of multiple cutaneous neoplasms, but the AF is uncommon. Although this neoplasm is benign, it may mimic spindle cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma on histologic examination. Immunohistochemical stains for cytokeratin, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin, S100 protein and vimentin may be helpful in differential diagnosis. AF rarely recur or metastasize, if wide excision has been performed. We present a case of a cardiac transplant recipient who developed, after multiple cutaneous squamous tumours, an AF of external ear following the prolonged immunosuppressive treatment with cyclosporin.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the outcomes of heterotaxy patients undergone the Fontan operation, focusing on morphological features and surgical techniques.
Methods: Eighty-two consecutive heterotaxy patients who underwent the Fontan operation from 1985 to 2021 were compared to 150 patients with tricuspid atresia (TA) and 144 patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). The Kaplan-Meier method and Cox proportional hazard model were used to analyze transplant-free survival and predictor of outcomes.

Background: Parenthood after lung transplantation (LuTx) is uncommon. Although data exist regarding practice patterns surrounding pregnancy after heart transplantation, there are no data specific to LuTx recipients and parenthood more broadly.
Methods: We conducted a voluntary, anonymous online survey between October and December 2021.

Objectives: Ischemia/reperfusion (IR)-induced ventricular arrhythmia, which mainly occurs after the opening of coronary artery occlusion, poses a clinical problem. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of pretreatment with coenzyme Q (CoQ) in combination with mitochondrial transplantation on IR-induced ventricular arrhythmias in aged rats.
Materials And Methods: Myocardial IR induction was performed by left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion for 30 min, followed by re-opening for 24 hr.

Since 1987, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) has performed a substantial number of heart transplants as a specific therapy for advanced-stage heart failure. This descriptive study aimed to analyze post-transplant survival in the recent era compared to earlier periods and examine the pharmacogenetics of related immunosuppressants. Data from all recipients who underwent heart transplants from 1987 to 2021 were retrospectively retrieved from the electronic medical record.
