This study aimed to evaluate the effect of sample size on the development of a three-dimensional convolutional neural network (3DCNN) model for predicting the binary classification of three types of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH): intraparenchymal, subarachnoid, and subdural (IPH, SAH, SDH, respectively). During the training, we compiled all images of each brain computed tomography scan into a single 3D image, which was then fed into the model to classify the presence of ICH. We divided the non-hemorrhage quantities into 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, and 150 and the ICH quantities into 20, 30, 40, and 50.

In forensic neuropathology, the β-amyloid precursor protein (β-APP) immunostain is used to diagnose axonal injury (AI). The two most common aetiologies are traumatic (TAI) and ischaemic (vascular; VAI). We aimed to identify background characteristics and neuropathology findings that are suggestive of TAI, VAI, or no AI in neuropathologically examined medico-legal autopsy cases.

Differentiating benign enlargement of subarachnoid spaces (BESS) from low-attenuation subdural collections on CT imaging of infants can be challenging. This distinction is crucial in infants, as subdural collections may raise the concern for abusive head trauma (AHT). To evaluate the utilization of the displaced cortical vein sign on CT as a predictor of pathological subdural collections confirmed by MRI and to assess the reproducibility of this finding among radiologists with different levels of clinical experience.

This retrospective study aims to describe the vascular events in the central nervous system (CNS) associated with the acute form of steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis (SRMA), to compare the clinical features of dogs with and without such complications and to potentially identify predisposing factors for these events. Dogs with a presumptive diagnosis of SRMA visited between 2018 and 2023 with full medical records that underwent neurological examination, blood testing, cervical computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis were included. Thirty-three dogs were included and divided in two groups.

Traumatic aneurysms represent less than 1 percent of intracranial aneurysms and middle meningeal artery pseudoaneurysms are even rare. Traumatic aneurysms are usually pseudoaneurysms formed by the rupture of all the layers of the vessel wall. They are associated with high mortality as they can present as epidural, subdural, and rarely intraparenchymal hematoma.
