Purpose Of Review: Ethics in forensic expertise has been the focus of important debates. After providing a brief history of the theme, a review is given of the articles published in the last 2 years. As this field is constantly changing, it is possible to identify significant differences and even opposing positions adopted till now by various researchers.
Recent Findings: The review includes a discussion on the current ethical theories applied to the forensic field, the objective and subjective issues involved in forensic work, the care needed to prevent additional and unnecessary suffering to the examinees and, finally, future directions as indicated by the authors.
Summary: The authors conclude that the discussion on the ethics of forensic expertise should be more comprehensive. The debate should include the search for equilibrium between objectivity and subjectivity, inherent to forensic expertise work, and also the utilization of advanced technological resources, always bearing in mind the conditions to which the examiner and examinee are subjected.

Background: Ginkgo biloba L., an iconic living fossil, challenges traditional views of evolutionary stasis. While nuclear genomic studies have revealed population structure across China, the evolutionary patterns reflected in maternally inherited plastomes remain unclear, particularly in the Sichuan Basin - a potential glacial refugium that may have played a crucial role in Ginkgo's persistence.

The ForenSeq™ DNA Signature Prep kit has not been thoroughly tested with crude buccal swab lysates in large-scale population studies using massively parallel sequencing (MPS). Commonly used lysis buffers for swabs intending to undergo direct polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are SwabSolution™ and STR GO! Lysis Buffers, and these have been successfully used to generate population data using capillary electrophoresis (CE) systems. In this study, we investigated the performance and optimisation of SwabSolution™ and STR GO! lysates with the ForenSeq™ DNA Signature Prep workflow and addressed the challenge of failed MPS profiles in initial trials.

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is set to shape the future of medical practice. The perspective and understanding of medical students are critical for guiding the development of educational curricula and training.
Objective: This study aims to assess and compare medical AI-related attitudes among medical students in general medicine and in one of the visually oriented fields (pathology), along with illuminating their anticipated role of AI in the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-enhanced health care.

Objective: Tafamidis has shown potential in slowing disease progression in patients with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). This study aimed to evaluate serial changes on [Tc]Tc-pyrophosphate (PYP) scintigraphy during tafamidis treatment for hereditary ATTR-CM.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a prospectively collected cohort of Ala97Ser (A97S) hereditary ATTR-CM patients treated with tafamidis (61 mg/day) and a control group comprising A97S hereditary ATTR-CM patients who had not received disease-modifying medications.
