Polyoxometalates (POMs) have good potential for applications in different fields, including conducting materials, optics, and electrocatalysis. Of particular significance is the synthesis and development of addendum POMs. Molybdenum-oxo clusters, which are renowned for their diverse structures and electronic properties, were utilized to facilitate the synthesis of innovative materials.

Background: Nitrogen mineralization plays a critical role in the ecosystem cycle, significantly influencing both the ecosystem function and the nitrogen biogeochemical cycle. Therefore, it is essential to investigate the evolutionary characteristics of soil nitrogen mineralization during the karst vegetation restoration to better understand its importance in the terrestrial nitrogen cycle.
Methods: This study analyzed from various stages of vegetation growth, including a 40-year-old woodland, 20-year-old shrubland, 15-year-old shrubland, 5-year-old grassland, and nearby cropland.

Background: In today's conditions, it is not possible to eliminate chemical inputs without reducing food production. Therefore, integrated methods that reduce the negative effects of chemical inputs are needed. One of the alternatives is the use of beneficial bacteria, which can both improve the yield and quality of vegetable crops and reduce the use of chemical fertilisers.

The genus Spiribacter encompasses halophilic bacteria widely distributed in hypersaline environments worldwide. Despite their ecological significance, initially isolating Spiribacter species under laboratory settings was challenging due to the lack of knowledge of their growth and cultivation requirements. However, with improved understanding of their ecological niche and metabolic pathways, additional species of Spiribacter have been successfully isolated and identified from diverse locations around the globe.

The heavier group 15 elements As, Sb, and Bi are more restricted in their biochemistry than the nearly ubiquitous lighter congeners N and P, but organisms do encounter compounds of these elements as environmental toxins, starting materials for secondary metabolite biosynthesis, substrates for primary metabolism, or exogenously applied medicines. Under many physiological conditions, these compounds are transformed into pnictogen(III) species, the soft Lewis acidic character of which leads them to interact strongly with biologically relevant soft Lewis bases such as small-molecule thiols or cysteine residues of proteins and peptides. The archetypal complexes As(Cys), Sb(Cys), and Bi(Cys) have been studied in the past but a lack of detailed information about their molecular structures has hampered the analysis of protein structures featuring As(III), Sb(III), and Bi(III) bound to cysteine thiolate residues.
