The photopolarimeter instrument on Voyager 2 was used to obtain a map of Jupiter at an effective wavelength of 2400 angstroms. Analysis of a typical north-south swath used to make this map shows strong absorption at high latitudes by a molecular or particulate constituent in the Jovian atmosphere. At 65 degrees north latitude, the absorbing constituent extends to altitudes above the 50-millibar pressure level.

Two new cyanido-bridged {FeM} double chains were obtained by reacting cyanido anions [M(CN)] with complex cations [Fe(tptz)] (preformed by mixing a hydrated tetrafluoroborate salt of iron(II) and a tptz ligand, tptz = 2,4,6-tri(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine) having the general formula [Fe(tptz)M(CN)]·2HO·CHCN, where M = Pd (1) or Pt (2). Additionally, two molecular complexes formulated as [Fe(tptz)][M(CN)]·4.25HO, where M = Pd (3) or Pt (4), were subsequently obtained from the same reaction, as secondary products.

Carboxysomes are proteinaceous organelles that encapsulate key enzymes of CO fixation-Rubisco and carbonic anhydrase-and are the centerpiece of the bacterial CO concentrating mechanism (CCM). In the CCM, actively accumulated cytosolic bicarbonate diffuses into the carboxysome and is converted to CO by carbonic anhydrase, producing a high CO concentration near Rubisco and ensuring efficient carboxylation. Self-assembly of the α-carboxysome is orchestrated by the intrinsically disordered scaffolding protein, CsoS2, which interacts with both Rubisco and carboxysomal shell proteins, but it is unknown how the carbonic anhydrase, CsoSCA, is incorporated into the α-carboxysome.

Current aqueous Zn batteries (ZBs) seriously suffer from dendrite issues caused by rough electrode surfaces. Despite significant efforts in prolonging lifespan of these batteries, little effort has been devoted to dendrite elimination in commercial-grade cathode loading mass. Instead, demonstrations have only been done at the laboratory level (≤2 mg cm ).
