Background: Clinical decision support systems leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) are increasingly integrated into health care practices, including pharmacy medication verification. Communicating uncertainty in an AI prediction is viewed as an important mechanism for boosting human collaboration and trust. Yet, little is known about the effects on human cognition as a result of interacting with such types of AI advice.

Plant-growth-promoting microorganisms are extensively studied and employed as alternatives to toxic agrochemicals to enhance plant health. However, one of the main concerns regarding their use is their limited capacity to colonize plant tissues after initial application. Understanding the molecular mechanisms involved during plant colonization could help to develop strategies to improve the efficacy of beneficial microbes in the field.

Background: Basocellular carcinoma (BCC) is the most prevalent skin malignancy, often localizing to the UV-exposed skin of the face. While most BCC is relatively indolent, aggressive subtypes, including infiltrative BCC, pose the treatment challenges of ensuring functional and aesthetic preservation with a high risk of recurrence.
Case: A 78-year-old female patient complained of recurrent left chin BCC of infiltrative subtype, which was first treated in 2013 by wide local excision and adjuvant radiotherapy.

A young boy developed steroid refractory GVHD post haploidentical transplant for relapsed B-ALL. He was on systemic immunosuppression with two immunosuppressants, and had history of CMV reactivation and tuberculosis. Eight months post-transplant, he was hospitalized with multi-drug-resistant gram-negative sepsis, and during the same episode, he developed penile lesions which progressed to dry gangrene of glans-penis.
