Using piezoresistive SiO2 microcantilever technology, we present an ultra-sensitive chemical sensor for trace organophosphorus vapor detection. A self-assembled composite layer of Cu2+/11-mercaptoundecanoic acid is modified on the surface of the sensing cantilever as a specific coating to capture P=O containing compounds. Experimental results indicate that the sensor can be quite sensitive to DMMP vapor (well known as a simulant of nerve agent). The signal-noise-limited detection resolution of the sensor is experimentally obtained as low as several parts per billion. Besides that the sensor can yield reversible and repeatable response to DMMP vapor, adsorption of DMMP on the self-assembled composite layer is well fit to the Langmuir isotherm model.

The present review provides the first analysis and synthesis of the available scientific information on the effects of anthropogenic contaminants on cephalopod embryos, paralarvae, and juveniles. We evaluated 46 articles published between 1970 and 2023 that focused on trace elements (69%), pharmaceutical compounds (11%), persistent organic compounds (11%), and plastics (9%). To date, the greatest scientific effort has originated from Europe and Asia (France [57%], China [9%], Italy [7%], and Spain [4%]), with few reports available from the rest of the world.

Organophosphate pesticides can cause long-term neurological damage to humans. There is an urgent need to develop a more sensitive and efficient method for detecting trace amounts of organophosphorus pesticides in orange juice, particularly in the presence of interfering substances. This study developed a dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) method using amorphous UiO-66 (aUiO-66) as an adsorbent for the detection of four organophosphate pesticides (fenthion, profenofos, fensulfothion, and chlorpyrifos) in orange juice.

We investigate the spatial distribution and potential ecological impact of Currently Used Organophosphorus Pollutants (CUOPPs) in the Arctic Ocean, focusing on the East Siberian Sea, Laptev Sea, and high Arctic regions. Analyzing surface water samples collected during a scientific expedition aboard the "Xuelong 2" in August and September 2021, we detected 38 out of 83 targeted CUOPPs, including Phorate, Paraoxon, and Azinphos-ethyl, with concentrations exhibiting significant geographical variance. The results reveal a pronounced increase in CUOPP concentrations towards the Arctic poles, diverging markedly from the patterns observed in the East China Sea, thereby highlighting distinct regional pollution profiles and environmental interactions.

Temephos is an organophosphorus pesticide widely used as a larvicide in public health campaigns to control vector-borne diseases. Data on the urinary elimination of temephos metabolites are limited, and there is no validated biomarker of exposure for its evaluation. This study aimed to determine the urinary excretion kinetics of temephos and its metabolites in adult male rats.

C-P bond formation reactions have garnered significant attention due to the widespread presence of organophosphorus compounds in pharmaceuticals, phosphine-containing ligands, pesticides, and materials science. Consequently, various efficient methodologies have been established in recent decades for constructing C-P bonds. This review article traces the historical evolution of C-P bond research and explores the prospects of C-P bond formation.
