Article Synopsis
  • This study compared the effects of treadmill walking warm-ups (TW) against dynamic warm-ups (DW) on youth's cardiopulmonary exercise testing responses.
  • The experiment involved 16 active youth (around age 14) who underwent peak oxygen uptake tests after different 6-minute warm-ups on separate days.
  • Results showed that DW led to a significantly higher maximum heart rate and other measures during the test, although both warm-ups resulted in similar peak oxygen uptake levels.

Background: Patients presenting with a sinus tract over total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are challenging cases of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). A 2-stage revision TKA has long been considered the gold standard for the management of PJI. At our institution, approximately 85% of patients with PJI, including patients with a sinus tract, undergo 1-stage revision TKA.

Health Division, Maccabi Healthcare Services, HaMered 27, Tel Aviv, 68125, Israel; Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel.

The following timelines were constructed: from symptom onset to imaging, imaging to biopsy, and biopsy to primary treatment initiation.

Our objective was to evaluate the effect of treatment with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) at the time of transfer of in vitro-produced (IVP) beef embryos on pregnancy outcomes in lactating multiparous Jersey cows. Grade 1, stage 7 (expanded blastocyst), IVP beef embryos were produced from black Angus-based dams using 3 proven high-fertility Angus sires and were frozen for direct transfer. In a preliminary experiment, lactating multiparous Jersey cows were randomized to a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments to test the main effect of recipient synchronization protocol (Double-Ovsynch; DO; n = 169 vs.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of intravitreal injection of conbercept (IVC) in treating moderate to severe nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR), with or without accompanying diabetic macular edema.

Methods: In this longitudinal retrospective study, 35 patients (50 eyes) with moderate to severe NPDR and Diabetic Retinopathy Severity Scale (DRSS) scores between 43 and 53 were treated at the Department of Ophthalmology, First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, from October 2018 to January 2023. Treatment protocol included three monthly IVC injections followed by a (PRN) regimen over a two-year follow-up period.
