An experiment was performed to understand the effects of aluminium toxicity (AlCl·6HO) on Kachai lemon growth and development. The toxic effects of aluminium were assessed for 45 days in sand media. With untreated pots serving as the control, seedlings of 1 month old were exposed to three concentrations of AlCl·6HO: 300 μM, 600 μM and 900 μM.

Ortho-quinone methides (o-QMs), generated by oxidative dehydration of clavatol, are highly reactive intermediates in biosynthesis that give rise to a variety of clavatol-containing pseudonatural products (PNPs) in fungi through intra- and intermolecular nonenzymatic cyclization/addition reaction, and some compounds have significant biological activities. Here we report our genome mining efforts on a cryptic clavatol biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) from an ascidian-derived fungus Diaporthe sp. SYSU-MS4722.

This study evaluated the efficacy of integrating artichoke (Cynara scolymus) leaf extract (CSLE) into the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) diet to mitigate fluoride (FLR) adverse effects on growth, immune components, renal and hepatic function, and the regulation of oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis-related genes. A 60-day feeding experiment was conducted with 240 O. niloticus fish separated into four groups as follows: a control group (CON) fed on a basic diet, a CSLE group receiving 300 mg CSLE/kg via the diet, a FLR group exposed to 6.

Background: Acetyl phosphate (AcP) is a microbial intermediate involved in the central bacterial metabolism. In bacteria, it also functions as a donor of acetyl and phosphoryl groups in the nonenzymatic protein acetylation and signal transduction. In host, AcP was detected as an intermediate of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, and its appearance in the blood was considered as an indication of mitochondrial breakdown.

Advance glycation end products (AGEs) are the main reason for diabetic complications. Persistent hyperglycemia and non-enzymatic glycation increase the rate of AGEs formation. Natural functional food-based approaches are mainly under investigation these days to discover new treatment options.
