The current practice of relying on single sample null hypothesis tests is being re-evaluated in the behavioral sciences. To highlight the issues raised by both sides of this discussion, a meta-analysis of The Gallup Organization's most recent U.S. Presidential election polling data was conducted. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, most pre-election polling percentages reported Bush ahead of Kerry, although the differences between the voters' preferences were typically within the margin of error. The meta-analyses used in this study showed significant differences between the two candidates' polling percentages, thus yielding a more accurate prediction than the conventional analysis which was based on single samples. These improved predictions provide support for a continued discussion about potential changes in statistical approaches to psychology.

In a series of large-scale studies (N = 5,448) we show that Americans across many different demographic categories vastly underestimate their fellow Americans' support for diversity and inclusion. Trump voters were particularly inaccurate when their task was to estimate prevalent attitudes among Biden voters. Our results show that the degree of underestimation of others' support for diversity and inclusion predicts the frequency of conversations about diversity, reduced intentions to behave inclusively, and a smaller likelihood of confronting discrimination.

Background And Objectives: The primary objective of this study was to assess the potential educational value of a virtual patient management conference (PMC) with the introduction of inclusive anonymous polling at a comprehensive epilepsy center. The secondary objective was to evaluate differences between faculty and trainee polling results.
Methods: Two online surveys were sent 1 year apart seeking opinions about a transition to virtual PMC and completed by virtual PMC faculty participants (including representatives from neurology, neurosurgery, and neuropsychology).
