Some surgical procedures can be performed more safely outside the OR. One procedure commonly performed within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation. Staff members at one tertiary care facility assessed current management and delivery of bedside PDA ligation surgery and identified several problem areas, including communication issues regarding patient and unit readiness, design of instrument sets, and organization and transportation of surgical supplies. Implementing solutions to these problems resulted in a decrease in the amount of time the surgical team spent in the NICU and more efficient surgical procedures.

Objective: to map the available evidence on the characteristics of care coordination between Primary Health Care and Specialized Outpatient Care for users with diabetes and hypertension.
Method: this is a scoping review with 40 articles as the final sample, evaluated by means of Content Analysis, of the thematic-categorical type, with the aid of a technological tool.
Results: care coordination was defined by means of eight categories: information and communication, integration of care, improvement and quality, care management, care sharing, fundamental attribute, health professionals and health service users, with the results of the articles concentrating mainly on four categories, with information and communication standing out, followed by the category of care management and the category of care sharing, in parallel with improvement and quality.

Several international agreements acknowledge public participation, equity, and democracy as necessary conditions to achieve Health Promotion. For this purpose, if we accept the validity of distinct systems of knowledge, we realize the relevance of an approach to healthcare based on a pluralist epistemology, which sustains the legitimacy of traditional knowledge in its own processes of production, transmission, and application. In this study, we aim to investigate the notions and understandings of traditional healing practices in a city near Curitiba, in Southern Brazil.

The implementation of the Transsexualizing Process (TP) / Gender-affirming Surgeries (GAS) in the Unified Health System (SUS) was the result of social struggles by the LGBT community for sexual rights, the construction of gender identity, and bodily autonomy. The scope of this article is to analyze the advances and challenges of TP/GAS in the SUS, through a qualitative narrative literature review. In June 2022, searches were conducted in the Google Scholar, SciELO, and VHL databases to select scientific articles in Portuguese published in the last 10 years, excluding articles in foreign languages and other types of academic work such as reviews, undergraduate theses, dissertations, and/or graduate theses.
