Background: Global re-emergence of the zoonotic viral disease, Mpox (Monkeypox) has drawn global attention, leading to its declaration as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by World Health Organisation (WHO) in July 2022. Nigeria is a spotlight identified for the viral disease outbreak, with attention drawn on its transmission to non-endemic nations. With the country's healthcare challenges, care seeking practices particularly amongst low-income urban informal settlement populations are diverse - presenting challenges to both case identification and management during an outbreak.

Assessing and determining genetic diversity in rose species is a crucial step for conservation efforts, the establishment of a core collection, and the development of new varieties. This study represents the first investigation of genetic diversity among various rose species at different ploidy levels in Tunisia, with the aim of elucidating the genetic structure of the genus. It encompasses both spontaneous and cultivated accessions, featuring local and introduced species recognized for their adaptability, ornamental value, and fragrance.

Background: Whole genome sequencing of clinical bacterial isolates holds promise in predicting their susceptibility to antibiotic therapy, based on a detailed understanding of the phenotypic manifestation of genotypic variation. The ' aminoglycoside acetyltransferase gene family is the most abundant aminoglycoside resistance determinant encountered in clinical practice. A variety of AAC(6') isozymes have been described, suggesting a phenotypic distinction between subtype I, conferring resistance to amikacin (AMK), and subtype II, conferring resistance to gentamicin (GEN) instead.

Background: Genetic testing has traditionally been divided into molecular genetics and cytogenetics, originally driven by the use of different assays and their associated limitations. Cytogenetic technologies such as karyotyping, fluorescent in situ hybridization or chromosomal microarrays are used to detect large "megabase level" copy number variants and other structural variants such as inversions or translocations. In contrast, molecular methodologies are heavily biased toward subgenic "small variants" such as single nucleotide variants, insertions/deletions, and targeted detection of intragenic, exon level deletions or duplications.
