Purpose: To explore the relationship between orthodontic treatment and temporomandibular joint disorder(TMD).
Methods: The questionnaire and clinical examination were administered in 173 cases who underwent orthodontic treatment (orthodontic group),95 cases with morphologic malocclusion(malocclusion group) and 32 cases with normal occlusion (normal group) to collect symptoms and signs of TMD, the data were analyzed in the databases designed according to the modified Helkimo indices. SPSS10.0 software package was used for Wilcoxon test.
Results: There were statistically significant differences between the orthodontic group and malocclusion group in the distribution of anamnestic, clinical dysfunction and occlusion indices(P<0.001). There were statistically significant differences between the orthodontic group and normal group with regard to the distribution of anamnestic, clinical dysfunction indices(P<0.001). No statistically significant differences were found between the orthodontic group and normal group in terms of occlusion indices(P>0.05).
Conclusion: The results suggest that patients undergoing orthodontic treatment have more symptoms and signs of TMD in the time ranged.

Background Orthodontic diagnostic workflows often rely on manual classification and archiving of large volumes of patient images, a process that is both time-consuming and prone to errors such as mislabeling and incomplete documentation. These challenges can compromise treatment accuracy and overall patient care. To address these issues, we propose an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven deep learning framework based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to automate the classification and archiving of orthodontic diagnostic images.

Objective: The orthodontic mini-implant (OMI) failure often occurs due to the accumulation of peri-implantitis bacteria surrounding it, which results in a stable, resistant form of absolute skeletal anchorage during orthodontic treatment. Administering doxycycline may be the solution, but long-term side effects result in antibiotic resistance. Roselle flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa) possess beneficial active phytochemical substances, which may have potential as an OMI peri-implantitis alternative therapy.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the acceptance of moderate sedation (MS) as a behavior guidance technique (BGT) method among Saudi parents, and also assess their acceptance of other BGTs, including parental separation, papoose board (PB), and nitrous oxide (NO), used in conjunction with MS.
Patients And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Dental University Hospital, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It involved Saudi parents of children aged 3-5 years undergoing dental treatment with MS, alongside additional BGTs such as parental separation, PB, and NO.

Oral and maxillofacial diagnostic imaging is of paramount importance in dental clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up procedures. Periapical radiographic examination and numerous panoramic systems are used in routine clinical dental practice. Cone beam CT is widely used and currently the method of choice in oral and maxillofacial implantology, endodontics, maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, degenerative temporomandibular joint disease, orthodontics, airway studies, sleep disorders, and forensic dentistry.

Objective: This case report demonstrates the orthodontic treatment to correct a severe scissor bite and occlusal disharmony in a 26-year-old female patient, including the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) and fixed orthodontic appliances.
Clinical Considerations: Severe scissor bite is associated with vertical problems, such as molar extrusion. For orthodontic treatment, interradicular TADs were used to intrude the extruded molars, control the inclination of molars, correct dental midline, and improve dental relationships.
