Although "hotspots" have been utilized to enhance Raman signals for detecting various biomolecules, precisely regulating "hotspot" dimensions within enhancement substrates remains a significant challenge. This study introduces a novel, easily fabricated surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy sensor, T(OH⁻)/Ag@CC. This platform employs single-stranded DNA of adjustable lengths to mediate the self-assembly of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), resulting in a uniformly enhanced substrate with a spatially organized metal-organic frameworks architecture.

We sought to test the hypothesis that adult folate biomarker concentrations are negatively associated with the risk and severity of periodontitis. Data were pooled from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2009 to 2014. A total of 9252 dentate adult subjects aged 30 years and older who received a periodontal examination and had complete folate biomarker data were included in the analysis.

Research suggests that folic acid contributes to improving cognitive function. However, there is a lack of systematic research on the association of dietary intake of folate and serum, and red blood cell (RBC) folate levels with global cognitive impairment (CoI) in the elderly population. Importantly, excessive supplementation with folate among American adults at high risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) may have harmful effects.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the association of folate levels, including red blood cell (RBC) and serum folate with mortality (cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related, all-cause, and cancer-related) in patients with arthritis.
Methods: We integrated and analyzed the data from the 1999-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey to conduct this study. Weighted Cox proportional hazard regression, restricted cubic spline (RCS) model, and subgroup analysis were used to analyze the association of RBC and serum folate levels with all-cause, cancer-related, and CVD-related mortality.
