(Franch.) Pax is an endangered species endemic to China, mainly scattered in the Qinling-Daba Mountains. The genetic diversity of 17 natural populations were analyzed by nuclear DNA (nDNA) and chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) to explore the driving forces for its microevolution.

: The Balkan Peninsula has served as an important migration corridor between Asia Minor and Europe throughout humankind's history and a refugium during the Last Glacial Maximum. Past migrations such as the Neolithic expansion, Bronze Age migrations, and the settlement of Slavic tribes in the Early Middle Ages, are well known for their impact on shaping the genetic pool of contemporary Balkan populations. They have contributed to the high genetic diversity of the region, especially in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) lineages.

Background/objective: Theileria orientalis is a non-transforming Theileria species infecting cattle and water buffaloes. Several outbreaks of oriental theileriosis accompanied by considerable economic loss were documented in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The major piroplasm surface protein (MPSP) gene has frequently been used to molecularly characterize T.

Wild birds and waterfowl serve as the natural reservoirs of avian influenza viruses (AIVs). When AIVs originating from wild birds cross species barriers to infect mammals or humans, they pose a significant threat to public health. The H12 subtype of AIVs primarily circulates in wild birds, with relatively few isolates reported worldwide, and the evolutionary and biological characteristics of H12 subtype AIVs remain largely unknown.

Background: The genus is endemic to China and belongs to the Apiaceae family, which is widely distributed in the Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains (HHM) region. However, its morphology, phylogeny, phylogeography, taxonomy, and evolutionary history were not investigated due to insufficient sampling and lack of population sampling and plastome data. Additionally, we found that was not similar to members but resembled species in morphology, indicating that the taxonomic position of needs to be re-evaluated.
