Aims: The aim of this study is to evaluate meta-iodo-benzyl-guanidine scintigraphy in the diagnosis and the management of neuroblastoma.
Patients And Methods: betwen september 1999 and jun 2004, 16 children aging from 4 months to 6 years, with neuroblastoma, underwent mIBG scintigraphy in military hospital nuclear medicine department.
Results: 23 mIBG scans were done. The exam was indicated for the initial staging in 7 cases, to evaluate chemotherapy or surgery in 12 cases and to seek for reccurences in 3 cases. The sensitivity of mIBG was 57% in the detection of the primary tumor, 100% for liver metastases and 67% for medullar involvement.
Conclusion: mIBG scintigraphy should be a standard in the initial staging of neuroblastoma and in evaluating therapy response.

Objective: Currently, Ga-labeled somatostatin analogs (SSAs) are the most commonly used imaging agents for patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in clinical practice, demonstrating good results in tumor diagnosis. For applications in peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT), targeted drugs should have high tumor uptake and prolonged tumor retention time. To enhance the uptake and retention of tracers in NETs, our goal is to design a Ga-labeled heterodimer for optimizing pharmacokinetics and assess whether this form is more efficacious than its monomeric equivalents.

Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease characterized by a wide range of biomarker expressions, resulting in varied progression, behavior, and prognosis. While traditional biopsy-based molecular classification is the gold standard, it is invasive and limited in capturing tumor heterogeneity, especially in deep or metastatic lesions. Molecular imaging, particularly positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, offering a non-invasive alternative, potentially plays a crucial role in the classification and management of breast cancer by providing detailed information about tumor location, heterogeneity, and progression.

: This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy and prognostic significance of staging laparoscopy (SL) compared to computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) in gastric cancer staging. We evaluated the ability of SL to detect occult peritoneal metastases and influence of SL on survival outcomes across cancer stages and treatment approaches. : In this retrospective cohort study, 95 patients with gastric cancer underwent preoperative assessment using CT, PET-CT, and SL between 2018 and 2024.

Cardiac transthyretin amyloidosis is an underdiagnosed disorder with significant diagnostic difficulties due to its non-specific clinical manifestations. It is caused by the deposition of protein aggregates with an abnormal tertiary structure in the extracellular matrix. Their accumulation leads to the development of hypertrophic and restrictive cardiomyopathy and, at a later stage, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction syndrome.

Over the past decade, prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET) has revolutionized prostate cancer (PCa) imaging, offering greater sensitivity and specificity compared to conventional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and bone scintigraphy. PSMA-PET is particularly valuable in staging newly diagnosed patients with intermediate- and high-risk disease, detecting biochemical recurrence, and evaluating metastatic cases. By utilizing radiotracers that accumulate specifically in PSMA-expressing cells, even small metastases can be detected, offering a detailed assessment of cancer extent and enabling more targeted diagnostic evaluations.
