Background: The antenatal diagnosis of congenital toxoplasmosis rests in Tunisia on ultrasonography coupled with biological explorations. Among these explorations the search of Toxoplasma gondii by means of real time PCR in amniotic fluid is the examination of choice.

Aim: We report the results of 33 parturients for which the biological examinations allowed to retain the notion of perigravidic or pergravidic toxoplasmic infection.

Methods: They were 13 patients having a seroconversion during the pregnancy, 19 having anti-toxoplasmic IgM with a low or intermediate index of avidity and a patient having presented a symptomatic anteconceptional primary infection. The ADN was extracted by means of the Kit (Qiagen). Genic amplification by PCR TaqMan targeted a portion of 71 pairs of bases of the B 1 gene.

Results: The PCR was positive among 9 patients (27.3%). They were a patient having presented a symptomatic toxoplasmosis during the pregnancy, 4 patients having consulted only in the 2nd quarter and for which the index of avidity was intermediate and 4 patients having presented seoconversions of 1st (n=1) of 2nd (n=2) or 3rd trimester. Among these patients, 2 had a medical interruption of pregnancy. The 7 others were put under pyrimethamine sulfadiazine. The neonatal assessment practised at 5 new-born babies was negative in all the cases. The PCR was negative for 24 patients. 18 pregnancies were followed. The neonatal serology was negative. The follow-up of 13 newborn child showed the disappearance of the antitoxoplasmic IgG between the 6th and 12th month.

Ischemic Area-Targeting and Self-Monitoring Nanoprobes Ameliorate Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury by Scavenging ROS and Counteracting Cardiac Inflammation.

Precise and effective management of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) is still a formidable challenge in clinical practice. Additionally, real-time monitoring of drug aggregation in the MIRI region remains an open question. Herein, a drug delivery system, hesperadin and ICG assembled in PLGA-Se-Se-PEG-IMTP (HI@PSeP-IMTP), is designed to deliver hesperadin and ICG to the MIRI region for in vivo optical imaging tracking and to ameliorate MIRI.

Aims: Evaluate glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) and weight changes after 6 months of once-weekly (QW) injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) therapy in UK primary care.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective, non-interventional study, using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink Aurum primary care database, identified adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) newly initiating a QW injectable GLP-1 RA between January 2020 and November 2021. Dual primary outcomes were proportion of patients with (1) HbA1c < 7% (<53 mmol/mol) and (2) weight loss categories (from 0% to 15+%) after 6 months of continuous GLP-1 RA therapy.

Gesture recognition plays a significant role in human-machine interaction (HMI) system. This paper proposes a gesture-controlled reconfigurable metasurface system based on surface electromyography (sEMG) for real-time beam deflection and polarization conversion. By recognizing the sEMG signals of user gestures through a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) model, the system dynamically modulates the metasurface, enabling precise control of the deflection direction and polarization state of electromagnetic waves.

Three-dimensional (3D) LiDAR is crucial for the autonomous navigation of orchard mobile robots, offering comprehensive and accurate environmental perception. However, the increased richness of information provided by 3D LiDAR also leads to a higher computational burden for point cloud data processing, posing challenges to real-time navigation. To address these issues, this paper proposes a 3D point cloud optimization method based on the octree data structure for autonomous navigation of orchard mobile robots.

Aleutian mink disease (mink plasmacytosis) is a severe immune complex-mediated condition caused by the Aleutian Mink Disease Virus (AMDV), the most significant pathogen affecting mink health in the industry. Several studies have shown that AMDV epidemics can result in millions to tens of millions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year. In this study, we developed a TaqMan probe-based real-time PCR technology (TaqMan-qPCR) for the specific, sensitive, and reproducible detection and quantification of AMDV in mink tissues by the VP2 gene, achieving detection limits as low as 1.
