Mice bearing established Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC) expressing model tumor antigen, ovalbumin (OVA) (LLC-OVA) marginally responded to local radiotherapy, but none of the mice was cured. In contrast, treatment of the tumor-bearing mice with intratumoral injection of tumor-specific T helper type 1 (Th1) cells and tumor antigen (OVA) after radiotherapy dramatically prolonged the survival days and induced complete cure of the mice at high frequency (80%). Radiation therapy combined with Th1 cells or OVA alone showed no significant therapeutic activity against LLC-OVA. Such a strong therapeutic activity was not induced by intratumoral injection of Th1 cells plus OVA. Compared with other treatment, radiation therapy combined with Th1 cells and OVA was superior to induce the generation of OVA/H-2(b) tetramer(+) tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) with a strong cytotoxicity against LLC-OVA in draining lymph node (DLN). Moreover, the combined therapy is demonstrated to inhibit the growth of tumor mass, which grew at contralateral side. These results indicated that radiotherapy combined with Th1 cell/vaccine therapy induced a systemic antitumor immunity. These findings suggested that combination therapy with radiotherapy and Th1 cell/vaccine therapy may become a practical strategy for cancer treatment.

Background: Type 1 regulatory T (Tr1) cells are critical players in maintaining peripheral tolerance, by producing high IL-10 levels in association with inducible T-cell co-stimulator (ICOS) expression. Whether these cells play a role in naturally acquired baked egg tolerance is unknown.
Objectives: Evaluate frequencies of egg-responsive Tr1 and Th2 cells in egg-allergic children that naturally acquired baked egg tolerance (BET) versus non-egg-allergic (NEA) children.

: Sjögren's syndrome (SS), an autoimmune disease, was characterized by sicca syndrome and systemic manifestations, presenting significant treatment challenges. Exosomes, naturally derived nanoparticles containing bioactive molecules, have garnered interest in regenerative medicine. The present study aimed to elucidate the immunoregulatory properties and mechanism of exosomes obtained from the stem cells derived from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED-exos) in SS-induced sialadenitis.

Multi-omics studies in a humanized NSG-SGM3 BLT mouse model demonstrate human T cells: 1) are remarkably heterogenous in gene expression and numbers, and 2) exist as a mixed population of activated, progenitor-exhausted, and terminally-exhausted Th1/Th17 cells with increased expression of immune checkpoint proteins (LAG3, TIM-3).

Human T-lymphotropic virus-1 (HTLV-1) induces neoplastic adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) and neurological HTLV-1 associated myelopathy (HAM) in approximately 3%-5% of infected individuals. The precise factors that facilitate disease manifestation are still unknown; interaction between the virus and the host's immune response is key. Cytokines regulates physiological activities and their dysregulation may initiate the pathogenesis of various malignant and infectious diseases.
