Description: The aim of this American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Clinical Practice Update (CPU) is to provide best practice advice (BPA) statements for gastroenterologists and other health care providers who provide care to patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The focus is on IBD-specific screenings (excluding colorectal cancer screening, which is discussed separately) and vaccinations. We provide guidance to ensure that patients are up to date with the disease-specific cancer screenings, vaccinations, as well as advice for mental health and general wellbeing.

Background: Perianal fistula refers to an abnormal connection between the anal canal and the perianal skin or perineum. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) plays a crucial role in accurately characterizing perianal fistulas, which informs surgical strategies and helps minimize recurrence.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at a single diagnostic imaging center in Addis Ababa, utilizing retrospectively collected data from May 2023 to June 2024.

Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic, complex inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that presents significant therapeutic challenges. Despite the availability of a wide range of treatments, many patients experience primary non-response, secondary loss of response, or adverse events, limiting the overall effectiveness of current therapies. Clinical trials often report response rates below 60%, partly due to stringent inclusion criteria.
