Background And Objectives: Nosocomial pneumonia caused by multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria presents a significant challenge for healthcare systems, as there are limited effective treatments available. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to investigate the outcomes of colistin plus meropenem combination therapy on nosocomial pneumonia.
Materials And Methods: An exhaustive search of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), and Embase databases was conducted, resulting in the extraction of 5 studies for qualitative assessment and meta-analysis.

Background: Biomarkers for paediatric bacterial meningitis are essential for accurate diagnosis.
Objectives: To perform a systematic review of diagnostic accuracy on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood biomarkers for paediatric bacterial meningitis.
Data Sources: Databases Medline, Excerpta Medica Database, Scopus and Web of Science were used.

Background: Current lines of evidence indicate that cysteine-rich secretory protein 3 (CRISP3) is an immunoregulatory factor. Nevertheless, no study has explored the relationships between the values of CRISP3 and sepsis.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature search and meta-analysis from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and ArrayExpress to determine the expression of CRISP3 in sepsis patients.

Background: Use of serum procalcitonin (PCT), an inflammatory biomarker for bacterial infections, has shown promising results for early stopping antibiotic treatment among patients with respiratory infections and sepsis. There is need for additional data regarding effectiveness and safety of this concept among patients with cancer.
Methods: Individual data of patients with a documented diagnosis of cancer and proven or suspected respiratory infection and/or sepsis were extracted from previous trials where adult patients were randomized to receive antibiotic treatment based on a PCT protocol or usual care (control group).

Background: Bronchiectasis clinically manifests airway mucus hypersecretion as mucopurulent sputum production and chronic cough. In the past decade, Tanreqing injection (TRQ) has been often used in clinical practice as an add-on treatment for bronchiectasis in China. Several in vivo studies have indicated that TRQ is effective in improving sputum expectoration and cough in acute exacerbation of bronchiectasis but results of individual studies are inconsistent.
