Objective: To explore the contents of polysaccharides and flavones in different parts of Ophiopogon japonicus for instead of Radix Ophiopgonis as medisine materials.
Methods: The content of polysaccharides was quantified by colorimetry, content of total flavones was determined by spectrophotometry.
Results: The content of total flavones in the leaf was distinctly higher than that in the root tuber.
Conclusions: The leaf of Ophiopogon japonicus can be used as medicinal materials to extract the flavones.
