Both operative and nonoperative management of the unstable shoulder requires a thorough understanding of the natural history of instability, as well as the normal anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder joint. Failure of management may occur at any time during the course of treatment, and may be a result of either physician or patient error, or a combination of both. The correct diagnosis allows for selection of the most appropriate treatment, and the success of surgical treatment depends on proper recognition of the pattern of instability and technically adequate anatomic capsulolabral reconstruction. Complications that can occur include making the shoulder too loose or too tight, injury to the neurovascular elements about the shoulder, and articular injury from hardware usage about the shoulder.

Objective: This study aims to analyze the medical-seeking behavior of Osteogenesis Imperfecta(OI) children in Southwest China, summarize and analyze the issues in their medical process, and propose corresponding improvement strategies.
Methods: A phenomenological study involving semi-structured interviews with 20 OI caregivers at a tertiary centre for children from March to August 2021 was analyzed thematically, following Anderson's model.
Results: We identified eight themes in the data: 1)Regional disparities of OI management, 2)Big economic burden, 3)High-risk population, 4)Lack of health education, 5)Multiple treatments,6)Strict treatment indications,7)Disappointing therapeutic outcomes,8)Effective or ineffective treatment results.

Background: Unicortical plate fixation offers several theoretical advantages in the treatment of metacarpal shaft fractures compared to bicortical fixation. This approach avoids the potential hazard of excessive drilling into the volar cortex, thus minimizing damage to surrounding soft tissues and helping prevent complications related to improperly sized screws. These benefits prompted our team to conduct a preliminary clinical study to investigate the effectiveness and safety of this approach.

Purpose: Reduction and intraoperative maintenance of fracture fragments during minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) pose technical difficulties, particularly when the interposed fragment is angulated, prompting surgeons to attempt reduction due to concerns about nonunion or malunion. We aimed to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of MIPO for mid-shaft clavicular fractures based on the reduced status of the interposed fragments.
Method: Fifty-seven patients who underwent MIPO for acute mid-shaft Robinson type 2B clavicular fractures were divided into two groups based on the alignment of the interposed fracture fragment.
