Published: June 2007

Objective: To provide content-measuring evidences for establishing the quality criteria of dexamethasone acetate ulcer pasta.

Methods: Content of dexamethasone acetate was assayed by the isonicotinyl hydrazine (INH) colorimetry.

Results: The good linear range was 6-16 microg/mL (r = 0.999 1). The average recovery of dexamethasone acetate was 98.9%, and relative standard deviation was low than 1% (n = 5).

Conclusion: It is easy, convenient, accurate and dependable for INH colorimetry to determine the content of dexamethasone acetate.

Rapamycin protects glucocorticoid-induced glaucoma model mice against trabecular meshwork fibrosis by suppressing mTORC1/2 signaling.

Eur J Pharmacol

Electronic address:

Systemic or local use of glucocorticoids (GCs) can induce pathological elevation of intraocular pressure (IOP), potentially leading to permanent visual loss. Previous studies have demonstrated that rapamycin (Rapa) inhibits the activation of retinal glial cells (RGC) and the production of neuroinflammation, achieving neuroprotective goals. However, there has been little research on the effect of Rapa on the trabecular meshwork (TM).

Glucocorticoids are potent anti-inflammatory drugs, although their use is associated with severe side effects. Loading glucocorticoids into suitable nanocarriers can significantly reduce these undesirable effects. Macrophages play a crucial role in inflammation, making them strategic targets for glucocorticoid-loaded nanocarriers.

To systematically evaluate clinical features and effects of cyclosporine in the treatment of psoriasis. Databases including Web of Science, PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, CNKI, Wan Fang, and VIP were electronically searched for studies on the use of cyclosporine in the treatment of psoriasis, from inception to March 2024. Two reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness (CE) of minimally invasive interventions for pain associated with articular temporomandibular dysfunction from the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) perspective.

Methods: This is a CE study with a 1-year time horizon. Effectiveness data were extracted from a network meta-analysis, and 2 treatments with moderate levels of evidence certainty were evaluated: arthrocentesis (ARTRO) plus intra-articular corticosteroid (CO) injection and ARTRO plus intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate (SH).

Dexamethasone acetate loaded poly(ε-caprolactone) nanofibers for rat corneal chemical burn treatment.

Sci Rep

September 2024

Department of Ophthalmology, Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital, College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea, 10, 63-Ro, Yeongdeungpo-Gu, Seoul, 07345, Republic of Korea.

Article Synopsis
  • The researchers developed polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofibers loaded with dexamethasone acetate (DEX) to enhance drug delivery and healing for corneal injuries.
  • In experiments with rats, the PCL+DEX treatment showed better inflammatory response and wound healing compared to standard DEX eye drops, indicating its potential as an effective therapy for corneal burn injuries.
