Paracetamol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are frequently used during pregnancy. Due to their fetotoxicity, NSAIDs are contraindicated during the third trimester. There is ongoing controversy about the extent to which NSAIDs may cause cardiovascular and renal impairment in the fetus earlier in the second trimester.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists are currently available for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. They have been shown to help with diabetic kidney diseases through multiple mechanisms. In this review, we will shed light on the different mechanisms of action through which GLP-1 receptor agonists may achieve their roles in renal protection in diabetics, both in animal and human studies, as well as review the renal outcomes when using these drugs and their safety profile in diabetic patients.

Controlling pain after major orthopedic surgery may be challenging, and it is related to delayed recovery, the development of chronic pain, and analgesic dependence. It is well known that effective postoperative pain control can reduce hospital stays by ensuring a more rapid rehabilitation,thereby decreasing the overall costs. Despite the development of analgesics, the use of opioids and their derivates remains the cornerstone of treatment for patients with acute moderate-to-severe pain in association with general or regional anesthesia.

: Endometriosis and urogenital malformation with uterus didelphys and renal agenesis might occur concomitantly, and the question arises whether both entities are associated with each other. : A literature search was conducted in PubMed and Web of Science, using the following search terms: "endometriosis and uterine malformation, endometriosis and Herlyn-Werner-Wunderlich syndrome", "endometriosis and OHVIRA (Obstructed Hemivagina and Ipsilateral Renal Anomaly) syndrome" and "uterus didelphys, renal agenesis and endometriosis". : We identified and examined 36 studies, comprising a total of 563 cases with coinciding endometriosis and OHVIRA.
