Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease with neoplastic growth of mucin-secreting cells in the peritoneal cavity, resulting in mucinous ascites. The septum of intra-abdominal fluid collection is a key imaging finding characteristic to PMP. In magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), multi-b value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a method used to obtain an accurate apparent diffusion coefficient.

Introduction: To analyze the cytomorphology and clinical correlates of pseudomyxoma peritonei (PP), a frequently fatal pathological entity defined by gelatinous ascites caused by slow but relentless accumulation of mucin produced by neoplastic glandular epithelium.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective search of the electronic pathology data systems of three large tertiary care medical institutions revealed 41 cases from 32 patients with PP and corresponding abdominal fluid cytologic specimens. Cytologic material was available for review in 15 cases.

Cholangiocarcinomas (CCAs) comprise a mucin-secreting form, intrahepatic or perihilar, and a mixed form located peripherally. We characterized cancer stem cells (CSCs) in CCA subtypes and evaluated their cancerogenic potential. CSC markers were investigated in 25 human CCAs in primary cultures and established cell lines.
