This paper describes the use of a combination of intra-oral sensory stimulation and electropalatography (EPG) in the treatment of a case with severe developmental verbal dyspraxia. A multiple-baseline design was used. The treatment duration was 11 months and started when the subject was 5 years old. The efficacy of the treatment was assessed by calculations of percentage of correctly articulated words, percentage of consonants correct, percentage of phonemes correct and percentage of words correct. Intelligibility assessments were conducted by both naïve and expert listeners. The experts also assessed visual deviances in articulatory gestures from video recordings. Qualitative analysis of EPG data was made. The subject's speech was significantly improved by the treatment in all aspects. The results and their generalization to other cases of developmental verbal dyspraxia are discussed.

This study aims to evaluate the management of oro-antral communications (OAC) and fistulas (OAF), focusing on treatment strategies based on defect size, epithelialization, and the presence of sinus infections, while exploring both traditional and emerging techniques. The systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines and registered on PROSPERO (CDR ID 623251). Using targeted keywords, articles in English published within the last 10 years were analyzed from databases such as PubMed, WoS and Scopus, selecting only clinical studies on human patients.

Observations of maxillary (upper bill) bending in hummingbirds have been considered an optical illusion, yet a recent description of out-of-phase opening and closing between their bill base and tip suggests a genuine capacity for bill bending. We investigate bill kinematics during nectar feeding in six species of hummingbirds. We employed geometric morphometrics to identify bending zones and combined these data with measurements of bill flexural rigidity from micro-computed tomography scans to better understand the flexing mechanism.

Objective: To determine if re-establishment of occlusal contact was achieved within 6 months after insertion of a fixed anterior bite plane in individuals with Class II division 2 incisor relationship, and to evaluate the occlusal and vertical skeletal changes and acceptance of the intra-oral scanner and bite plane.
Design: Single-centre two-arm parallel group randomised controlled trial with 1:1 allocation to intervention and control groups.
Setting: Dundee Dental Hospital and Research School, UK.

Objective: To evaluate a newly designed minimally invasive palatal-plate face mask combination for the management of developing Class III malocclusion due to maxillary deficiency.
Methods: A sample of 16 Class III patients due to maxillary deficiency in the early mixed dentition (8 boys and 8 girls) aged between 7 and 9 years participated in this study and were treated with a combination of palatal plate face masks. Extra-oral elastics were attached between the intra-oral and extra-oral appliances; the elastics were set at 30° to the occlusal plane.

A crucial parameter in determining the prognosis of oral cavity cancer is depth of invasion (DOI). This research aimed to correlate pathological DOI at different intra-oral anatomical sites for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) with the risk of regional lymph node metastasis (LNM). This study also investigated the correlation of 3-year overall survival (OS) and disease-specific survival (DSS) with tumor depth.
