During the past 25 years, radiosurgery has evolved as a primary treatment modality for certain meningiomas when resection would be associated with high patient morbidity. In addition, radiosurgery is now routinely used as an adjunctive therapy for residual or recurrent meningiomas after surgical removal. In this review the authors summarize the vascular complications that occur after radiosurgery for meningiomas as well as experimental study data that give insight into the pathogenesis of this complication. These data may be useful when discussing with patients the risk/benefit ratio of choosing among conservative management, radiosurgery, and surgery.

surgery for rectal cancer often presents multiple tactical and technical challenges due to factors such as the tumor's extent, limited anatomical space, proximity to the anal sphincter complex, and the use of neoadjuvant radiotherapy. These factors can significantly increase the complexity of surgery and the risk of both immediate and delayed complications, which can occur intraoperatively or postoperatively. Objective: the aim of this study was to retrospectively analyze the causes, diagnostic methods, and management of complications in patients who underwent surgery for rectal cancer.

A 43-year-old woman presented with dyspnea and cough, initially misdiagnosed as respiratory syncytial virus. Persistent symptoms led to pulmonary thromboembolism treatment, but worsening issues revealed recurrent pericardial effusion. Imaging and biopsy confirmed pulmonary artery intimal sarcoma, mimicking thromboembolism, and autoimmune disease, underscoring diagnostic challenges.

Background: The new Amplatzer Steerable Delivery Sheath is a delivery system designed to improve ease-of-use and procedural results of left atrial appendage closure (LAAC). We aimed to compare procedural results after switching our LAAC program at a tertiary care center with the Amulet device to the Steerable Delivery Sheath, with a control group of LAAC employing the standard sheath.
Methods: The first n = 32 consecutively treated patients at our site using the Amulet device with the Steerable Delivery Sheath were included in this retrospective analysis.

IntroductionProlonged hyperglycemia in diabetic patients often impairs wound healing, leading to chronic infections and complications. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of fresh Tilapia fish skin as a treatment to enhance wound healing in diabetic rats. MethodsThirty-nine healthy adult albino rats, weighing between 150 and 200 g, were divided into three groups: non-diabetic rats with untreated wounds [C-], diabetic rats with untreated wounds [C+], and diabetic rats treated with fresh Tilapia skin [TT].
