Metastasis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) may involve any organ, including the parotid salivary gland. While the definition of salivary gland neoplasms with clear cell transformation can be concluded by the synchronous presence of areas showing typical morphology, sometimes the definition of a metastatic RCC in the parotid is difficult and the application of immunohistochemistry may support the clinical and radiographic observations in the final diagnosis. The aim of this paper was to describe the heterogeneous immunohistochemical features and, furthermore, to characterize the pattern of expression of cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) E-cadherin, beta4-integrin, desmoglein-2, ICAM-1 and CD44s (HCAM) in two cases of metastatic parotid RCC.

Background: ARPC1B has been identified as a key regulator of malignant biological behavior in various tumors. However, its specific role in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains poorly understood. This study aims to evaluate the influence of ARPC1B on the prognosis and disease progression in ccRCC patients.

Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a typical autoimmune disease characterized by a complex pathogenesis and a strong genetic predisposition. The study of inflammatory response in SLE monocytes is not very clear, and exploring the inflammatory factors of monocytes is beneficial to discover new diagnostic targets.
Results: Using scRNA-seq technology, we obtained the quantitative changes in circulating immune cells and various cellular immune metabolic profiles between SLE patients and healthy volunteers.

Functional cartilaginous tissues can potentially be engineered by bringing together numerous microtissues (µTs) and allowing them to fuse and re-organize into larger, structurally organized grafts. The maturation level of individual microtissues is known to influence their capacity to fuse, however its impact on the long-term development of the resulting tissue remains unclear. The first objective of this study was to investigate the influence of the maturation state of human bone-marrow mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (hBM-MSCSs) derived microtissues on their fusion capacity and the phenotype of the final engineered tissue.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) presents substantial therapeutic challenges due to its molecular heterogeneity, limited response to conventional therapies, and widespread drug resistance. Recent advancements in molecular research have identified novel targets, such as BUB1B, which has been identified through global transcriptomic profiling and gene co-expression network analysis as critical in ccRCC progression. In this study, we synthesized 40 novel derivatives of TG-101209 to modulate BUB1B expression and activity, leading to the induction of apoptosis in Caki-1 cells.

Mycoplasma (Class: Mollicutes) contamination in cell cultures is a universal concern for research laboratories. Some estimates report contamination in up to 35% of continuous cell lines. Various commercial antibiotic treatments can successfully decontaminate clean cell lines ; however, decontamination of bacterial cultures remains challenging.
